The female body is born beautiful, and reaches its peak of beauty after puberty. Or at least that is what society want’s us to think….then comes children/pregnancy, and the body changes again… and suddenly the body must be covered. A healthy amount of body fat is essential to be reproductive and smart, balanced and happy. But we feel ugly when fat and stretch marks meet. It’s crazy. I’m just rambling. I always feel more human at the public pool… all the bodies, all the imperfections. We are all humans at the public swim.. 🙂
airdrie’s last blog post..Tofino
thanks for rambling, airdrie!
it’s quite baffling to look at the narrow range of what’s supposed to be “beautiful” or “attractive” in our culture.
this image – look at the easy happiness in her face. look at the grace of her posture. of course she is beautiful!
I think she’s beautiful. I hope at her age I have that kind of grace and abandon!
Leza’s last blog post..I always start to cry…
abandon – aaaah, that sounds good!
You know, ifto speak about body image… then it’s not the right photo, it”s photo of an old woman, and may be for her age she looks nicely! You know, not all of us will be able to look not this fat…
