okay, last day today for stepping in hootin’ annie’s footsteps of giving out hallowe’en treats to strangers. there’s just a few more left in the bag.
today i’m giving out link treats to bloggers who have written about the history of slavery in louisiana. give me a few days and i’ll explain why. in the meantime, here are the late-coming trick-a-treaters.
and because it’s the last day, i’ll throw in an extra treat – 51 wonderful words by ralph waldo emerson:
finish each day and be done with it. you have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
